About Us

How it Began

It all began with the desire to include a puppy in our lives. We had been a cat family for many years, but Caitlyn (who appears as Katie in the books) wanted a dog. Barbara (Ellen in the books) grew up with a dog and wanted to return to being a dog person. One of Barbara’s friends is a foster pet parent and knew she had found us the perfect puppy. The rest, as they say, is history and will become a series of children’s books.

Our Mission

Puppy Brian stories will help young children understand the importance of family and inclusion.

Charity Information

We believe strongly in adopting, not shopping, for pets. If you are considering including a pet in your family, please think about adopting through your local government or nonprofit rescue agencies.

Puppy Brian was adopted through Mini Mighty Mutts located in Phoenix, Arizona. A portion of each book’s sale is donated to this wonderful rescue group.

If you’re not ready for a pet, but would like to help homeless animals, there are lots of opportunities available. Check with your local shelters and consider giving time or products to help in their efforts to find pets their very own families.
